Troubleshooting

Quick diagnosis for the most common Astero issues. If none of these apply, email [email protected] with your bot ID and the timestamp of the issue.

Bot shows offline in Discord

  1. Check the status page for platform-wide incidents.
  2. From /dashboard/[guildId]/bot-status, click Restart.
  3. If you have a dedicated bot (PRO+) : verify intents on Discord Developer Portal — Server Members + Message Content are required.
  4. If the bot token was re-rolled, update it at /dashboard/bots/[id]/settings.
  5. Try kicking + re-adding via the OAuth invite link.
  6. Still down after 5 minutes ? Email [email protected].

Slash command not appearing

  1. Discord caches slash commands for up to ~5 minutes. Wait + reload Discord.
  2. Check the module is enabled at /dashboard/[guildId]/setup.
  3. Check the bot has Use Application Commands permission in the channel.
  4. Some commands are admin-only (gated by Manage Server permission).

Stream notification didn't post

  1. Verify the feed is enabled at /dashboard/[guildId]/social.
  2. Check the bot can post in the target channel (View + Send Messages + Embed Links).
  3. Twitch / YouTube can take up to 60 s after live-start. Check /status for p95.
  4. If you went live + offline in less than 60 s, Astero deduplicates the event (no notification).

Command fails with "missing permissions"

See permissions for the full requirement list. Most common cause : the Astero role is below the target role in your server's role hierarchy — drag it higher.
